All Players Must Register with West Mall Lightning House League in order to be fully insured if they wish to Tryout for Select.    Registration information can be found on our Home Page.

League Information

Select teams are made up House League players and represent the West Mall Lightning in competitive play against other hockey associations.



 Select team members are chosen from the House League teams through tryouts. Tryouts are open to all registered House League players.  Players chosen for a Select team must continue to play for their House League team in addition to their Select team.

Registration fees for the Selects are on an individual team basis. The fee is based on the amount or money given by the sponsor to the team and any monies earned in fundraising efforts. This normally includes player insurance charges levied by the Canadian Hockey Association. Registration fees entitle each player to the use of two game jerseys, two pairs of game socks and also assist the association in funding practice ice time. Team jackets, track suits and other Association merchandise will also be made available as each team develops its sponsor and/or fundraising programs.
