The West Mall Lightning Minor Novice Selects went undefeated to win the West London-Byron Optimist Cup Tournament for the Silver Division. The Lightning took it all with five straight wins by beating Garden City Falcons, London Bandits and Markham Waxers in the round robin, Burlington Eagles in the semi-finals and London Bandits once again with a thrilling 7-6 overtime victory in the championship game.
